What\u2019s it takes to build each stage at Westbrook?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-size:16px;\">Building a 4,000-lot residential development like Westbrook involves a lot of heavy lifting.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size:16px;\">And we mean A LOT!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size:16px;\">The Westbrook team have constructed\u00a055 stages, and home builder partners have built almost 1,250 houses with a further 231 currently under construction.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size:16px;\">So we thought we\u2019d share some fun facts about just how much effort and energy goes into constructing each stage\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<ul><\/p>\n<li><span style=\"font-size:16px;\">Over 5,000 cubic metres of dirt is typically\u00a0excavated from each one, with a further 4,000 cubic\u00a0metres of dirt used for fill.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<p><\/p>\n<li><span style=\"font-size:16px;\">And because we\u2019re committed to recycling, wherever possible surplus fill is utilised on other stages, while any rock excavated is usually crushed down and taken offsite.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<p><\/p>\n<li><span style=\"font-size:16px;\">Expect to see at\u00a0least one excavator, scraper and bulldozer\u00a0hard at work preparing each stage, each capable of moving around 1,000 cubic metres of earth per day.<\/span><\/li>\n<p><\/ul>\n<p><\/p>\n<img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/dev.build.optimodesign.com.au\/westbrook\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/Construction2028229.png\" style=\"width: 200px; height: 168px;\" \/>\n<p><\/p>\n<ul><\/p>\n<li><span style=\"font-size:16px;\">And we are talking HEAVY machinery,\u00a0with plant (excavators, loaders, backhoes) weighing anywhere from 5 to 67 tonnes depending on the specific job and site conditions.<\/span><\/li>\n<p><\/p>\n<li><span style=\"font-size:16px;\">\u00a0Around 50m \u2013 100m of pipes and electrical cabling are laid in a typical stage per day \u2013 totalling\u00a0250m\u00a0per stage. \u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<p><\/p>\n<li><span style=\"font-size:16px;\">It also takes a river of concrete, with around 200m of concrete poured for kerbing each day, plus 50m for footpaths.<\/span><\/li>\n<p><\/ul>\n<p><\/p>\n<img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/dev.build.optimodesign.com.au\/westbrook\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/Construction2028129.png\" style=\"width: 200px; height: 168px;\" \/>\n<p><\/p>\n<ul><\/p>\n<li><span style=\"font-size:16px;\">And of course none of it would be possible without a large workforce to make it all happen.\u00a0Anywhere between 25 -50\u00a0people are typically involved in building a stage \u2013 some of them physically on site, with others providing input, including the estate\u2019s project team, site supervisors, machine operators, labourers and lots of sub-contractors.<\/span><\/li>\n<p><\/ul>\n<p><\/p>\n<img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/dev.build.optimodesign.com.au\/westbrook\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/Construction2028329.png\" style=\"width: 200px;
