Just down the road from Westbrook is Doherty\u2019s House.\u00a0 A historic home, built in the 1870s.\u00a0 In 1969 a devasting fire destroyed\u00a0the building\u2019s wooden rafters, windows, and outbuildings.\u00a0 However, in 2022 works were completed to preserve the important history of the building with the help of architects and conservation consultants.<\/p>\n

Showcasing the area\u2019s European heritage, the ruins are protected by Council\u2019s heritage overlay and are about to be revitalised as a new caf\u00e9 and meeting place for residents whilst maintaining its local history.<\/p>\n

Plans of the proposed Doherty\u2019s House Caf\u00e9 will include indoor, outdoor dining, garden, herb and vegetable plots.<\/p>\n

Wyndham Council are seeking resident feedback on the plans and also keen to to hear from those interested in leasing the finalised space via an EOI form.<\/p>\n
