It\u2019s volunteer-run and offers locals a chance to experience the USA\u2019s \u2018national pastime\u2019 in the heart of Werribee. The club was a recipient of the 2024 Manor Lakes Community Fund.<\/p>\n

What does Werribee Giants Baseball Club do for the community?<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Our club is entirely volunteer-run and gives people in Werribee the opportunity to try a different sport and become part of a supportive, active community.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n How have you personally been involved? <\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n I\u2019m a junior coach, a senior player, and have been on the committee for nine years.\u00a0I\u2019ve served as President for the last six years.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n What\u2019s planned for 2025 and 2026?<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n We recently moved up to the top domestic league in Victoria.\u00a0We’re excited to continue that momentum and plan to purchase more equipment to support our growing women\u2019s and junior teams.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n 2025 highlights so far?<\/strong> Two of our juniors were selected for the Victorian Under-16 team, and one was chosen to represent Australia in a tournament in Japan this August.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n How was the 2024 Manor Lakes Community Fund grant used? <\/strong>We purchased a new pitching machine for training, which has significantly helped our coaches and players improve their skills.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Baseball is a great social sport\u2014perfect for anyone to come and watch or give it a go!<\/p>\n <\/p>\n
